About me

In another reality, I often daydream about being a writer for Rolling Stone magazine, exploring the world of music and pop culture. Despite being labeled by some as a “failed” hockey player in my past, I’ve found my true passion in writing, which has become a significant part of my life. Working in the corporate world, I crave creative outlets to express myself fully. While I aspire to improve my running abilities, my heart belongs to my beautiful wife Eloise, whom I am grateful to share my life with. Our world is further enriched by our son Ian, who brings immense joy to our family, and our adorable dog Scruffles. I am also a secret lover of teddy bears.

Professionally, I have been in and around banking for 13 years wearing many hats. On the side, I’m the founder of a small agency called The Pony, where I channel my entrepreneurial spirit into driving success. My pursuit of knowledge and personal growth led me to undertake a master’s in brand leadership, with a focus on banking and customer service.

Beyond my personal endeavors, I am deeply committed to making a positive impact in society. Being a big supporter of the South African Depression and Anxiety Group, I aim to raise awareness and provide assistance to those struggling with mental health challenges. My journey is a tapestry of diverse interests, aspirations, and compassion, and I strive to make each day a stepping stone towards a fulfilling and purposeful life.

The year is 2005. A group of teenage boys pack their car and head to the south coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa to celebrate the end of their high school days. Craig and his best friends, the troops as they call themselves, need one last hurrah before the all get separated and go into the big, wide world. As they are joined by more and more matriculants, the annual matric vacation period takes off and chaos ensues.

While out one night the troops learn about an epic party at the end of their holiday, a party so exclusive that only the who’s who of South Africa attend. Craig and his fellow troops spend the next two weeks navigating the freedom of being young, dumb and in the sun. They endure girls, booze and in-fighting while trying to get tickets to the biggest party of the year.
