I started the year off with a goal of health and, although I feel I failed in that area, I feel like I won in other aspects. We made it through, I know that’s what counts.
My family, both immediate and extended, were really put through the ringer this year. It’s been a tough year for everyone. My son has finished off his first year of school and has adapted to a more regular routine. He is still obsessed with gardening. Eloise was having a great year until a series of work, outside of her control, changed that but she’s trucking on like a champ.
I wanted to do 2 marathons in 2024, but a knee op in February ended any hope of that. Doctor has said that running now is a luxury and hockey is a thing of the past. A fancy description for a gut punch if you ask me. I now need to find my new thing and no, it isn’t going to be cycling.
I then planned to find my next professional move in the year. I was hoping to work out where my next move was, not necessarily to make it. I have been extremely lucky to make the next move and I find myself in an organization that aligns perfectly with where I am in my life and where I need to learn.
I also had this dream of setting up a side project with a hefty goal on turnover for the calendar year. While I haven’t reached that goal, I have been able to build out key operations for the pony and I will have a physical product on the market next year. I am very excited about that.
All in all a good year, but oodles of stuff that we needed to work through. Here’s to a great 2025.
